Today the scenery where we woke up at was amazing. What would you do if you are at a place like this? Go out and enjoy it, and after plug the keys into the van and move to the north, closer to the mountains were we would hike today. That's what we did, we disappeared from there and had breakfast here!

The feelings, the freedom a campervan gives you is absolutely priceless. We prepared some breakfast, amazing fried eggs with peanut butter toasts, lots of proteins for the long day we had in front of us.

We did an easy hike of 6 hours more or less. In the middle, a stunning view to the wineglass bay, an incredible and quite empty place. It is true that the first part of the trek is really well prepared for people of all levels so they can reach the nice view. After this viewpoint it gets "trickier" and almost no one gets there.

If you follow the path, you end up at the beach, were we had a long walk and as rabbits, we had some raw carrots (the vegetarian touch) and we had a truly amazing long nap, lovely.

After we continued and we went around the peninsula, as it was well marked on the maps. However, following the internal eagerness to find weird animals, we went out the path and we ended un on a huge swamp.

The more we walked in, the less feasible was to walk out, which in the end became a "problem". we almost reached the seashore, where our path continued, but there was no clear walkable path to do so.

If we were back home, we would for sure walk between the bushes and the high grass, but in Tasmania... this didn't sound like a great idea. After a long discussion and small trials, we decided to go. We wore long pants, putting the long sleeve below the socks and we went up the hill covered by bushes and grass. No way you could see what was below, and that was the adventure of the day. After walking/running a bit we reached the other side of the hill, were we found the amazing Hazard's beach. Honestly one could argue is just a beach, but the feeling of coming out of this wildlife swamp were there was literally no one and the covered hill was just amazing!

The beach was as well almost empty, just a few people with big backpacks in the beginning, were the official path continued.

After that we walked all around the coast, with amazing views and orangy rocks. That was a peaceful and lovely walk.

At the end of the day, we wanted to try local food (yes skipping my day to day vegetarianism) so we looked for a lobster place.

We were so tired

that we just looked on google by number of stars, we didn't read specific reviews. We decided for a place by the coast, a bit more in the north. Place looked like a fast-food chain and... they told us there was no lobster, it wasn't the season. Since it was a fish place and i was starving after the hike I choose fish and chips. I never, literally never, had a fish and chips so tasty and fresh.

However, the surprise came later... because on the way to the place we saw a sign with a penguin drown on it, we asked if that was a joke or real. It happened that it was real, they told us that just in front the restaurant, every night, there would be many penguins 😍, so we went for a beer and came back when it was dark.

Oh well, it was full. When we arrived with the van to the parking lot we saw them. In the middle five fellas having a penguin party. They didn't get scared until we got off the van, then they run into the bushes. Later we walked around and all the park next to the restaurant was full of them, sometimes male penguins, some other female breeding small ones, the later acted a bit aggressive (completely normal and we walked away from them, not cool to disturb in that case). Then we went to the seashore's rocks and we sat before the ocean, it was calm and not cold at all (surprising, the weather is crazy here), I had a beautiful power nap there. Once ready, we left and tried to find a place to sleep. That was not easy, we had a conflict, high standards combined with tiredness and sleepiness. What made us wake up was the amount of wild animals we found on the way. Wallabies, possums and even penguins. They were everywhere on the road. Unfortunately this is a problem in Tasmania as I mentioned before, many get killed on the road.

We went up a close mountain and we slept in the woods. Beautiful.

Diego!
