Yeyyyyy all/dear diary!

Today I have visited the Mai Kaew Cave!

Well, one can say that visiting a cave it is not very much a Thai experience (even though it was quite extreme 😅). However, our guide has explained us how the mountain influenced his own life and the life of his family, for example having to hike for 4 kilometers in the mountains during ten years to reach the school. He has showed us what he learned from his fathers, grandparents and some other times by himself. Things like that sometimes, you can find certain leafs that will make a characteristic sound when you blow them, some others will help you to keep mosquitos away from you, or even how “long tail boat plant” leafs would fly as butterflies when thrown properly!

Long story short, I felt really lucky to have the opportunity to talk with him and find that, in the end, we are not that different! As I told him, my grandparent used to hike the Courel mountains in Galicia for hours to reach school! Also with this “green” games, as when he taught me that certain plants can very well serve as whistles, and some others as firecrackers.

Khop Kun Krap my friend! Thanks for taking us on an amazing trip inside the mountains and all those claustrophobic experiences but above all, thanks for sharing a piece of you and your history with us today.

Saudos!
